PROCESS

When I receive your application, I will first make an initial check of your site to see if it meets all of the points stated in the mandatory criteria.
One of the following steps will then take place:
1: If you have not filled in the application form correctly with the required password, you will be automatically disqualified, as this proves that you have not read the criteria, you will not be notified.
2: You have completed the form correctly but have failed to meet any of the required points you will be notified by email stating our findings.
3: You have added the correct answer when asked if you have read the criteria and your site meets the mandatory requirements, you will then receive an email confirming that I have received your application. You will also receive a code so that you can track your progress on the status page.

EVALUATION

The website will then undergo an evaluation with two to three members of my team using a browser of our choice. I use Firefox 1.5 & Opera 9.01. Websites are viewed with my Apple Macintosh computer OS10.3. The website will be scored according to my criteria and scoring system. Your website will be viewed three times. Once to check initial criteria. Secondly, to view your content, design, navigation and purpose. Thirdly to check for alt, meta tags and links. If during evaluation, we find a problem that can be easily corrected you will be notified and your evaluation will be put on hold until it is rectified. We are here to help rather than to punish!

RESULTS

After your score has been calculated, you will receive an email with your results and if successful, award graphic attached. If you are unsuccessful this time, I will notify you and give you some tips on how to improve your site. All applicants will be notified of our findings including feedback, whether they are successful or not, usually between 30 - 60 days. If you were unsuccessful in winning my award, I encourage you to make the necessary changes and reapply in 30 days.

WINNERS

All winners will be listed for a period of three years before being added to the archive. Websites will be checked periodically, if we find a broken link we will try to find it through search engines if we can't then unfortunately we will have to remove your link. The content and design of your site wil also be checked to see that they haven't changed and still comply with our criteria. This includes links to un-child friendly sites and resizing of our award graphics. If any of these points are found to be the case we will email you stating our findings and the option of changing them, if you decide not to do so your link will be removed.
