CONTENT CRITERIA

This section describes what we are looking for in the content of your website. A maximum of 45 points can be scored here.

Homepage - 2pts

Is your homepage enticing? Your homepage is the first page that your viewers see, make it inviting if you wish them to stay.

Purpose - 2pts

A dedicated webmaster will know why they wanted to publish their website with a clear objective in mind. These points will be awarded if we can understand your mission and purpose.

Content Focus - 2pts

Is your website solely about your chosen subject? If your subject matter is about cats, please do not stray from your topic. Provide meaningful information which is easy to understand. These points will be yours if your site is dedicated to your chosen subject matter.

Originality - 2pts

Have you made your website one that is original and stands out from the rest? Your content will be unique and helpful to your target audience making them want to return for more.

Balance Between Quality & Content - 2pts

We will be checking for a good balance between your design and content. Always make sure that you have enough good quality content to mirror your well designed pages.

Education & Entertainment - 2pts

As your site will have a subject matter related to education or entertainment, your site should be of merit and teach us something about your chosen subject matter.

Interaction - 2pts

Communication is a powerful tool so why not add a poll, newsletter or guestbook to keep your visitors interested also it is a great way of learning what your visitors think of your site by allowing them to voice their opinion.

Added Extras - 2pts

Do you aim to keep your visitors interested by adding extras such as games, screensavers, wallpapers or an award program that are related to your content? If so then these points are yours.

Grammar - 2pts

Correct grammar is an important part of a good site, it indicates professionalism and dedication. Always proof read your text and if possible get somebody else to read it as small errors can easily be overlooked. We do take exception to lazy abbreviations such as 'U' instead of 'you'!

Spelling - 2pts

Please ensure that you have checked your spelling as many errors will deduct from the validity of your site. If we find any we usually point them out in our evaluation sheet. Thankyou for reading this far, please add the word 'helvetica' when asked if you have read the criteria.

The Author - 2pts

Can we learn a little about you? Reading something about the author is always a plus, it creates a more personal atmosphere, so if you take the time to do so these points will be yours!

Site Updates - 2pts

A site updates page lets your visitor know that your site is maintained and all information is up to date, it will encourage them to return. Making this effort will earn you the points.

Site Map - 2pts

A site map is a very useful page as it allows your viewers to easily find pages of interest to them. Try to include a brief description of each page. A dedicated webmaster will have taken the time to create one and if you have taken this consideration the points are yours.

Written Expression - 2pts

How will we feel when reading your text? We will be assessing your site for its expression. Your communication should reach our emotions in some way whether it is happy or sad. Keep your visitors interest in a positive way.

Lasting Impression - 2pts

Finally we will decide how successfully you have created an unique and memorable place on the web. Will we remember your site in a positive way? If so then you will be awarded these points.

Overall Rating - 15pts

A final (15) fifteen points are allocated for our personal rating about your website taking into consideration our total review.
